Tower in Winterset

Good-bye February and hello March! I just finished this Ireland-looking tower drawing last Friday and I have to admit this gave me a hand cramp from all the detail put into these stones but definitely such a rewarding experience to sit back and look at what I've done and all the time spent on this.

This is a tower in Winterset, Iowa and it was built out of limestone in memory of Caleb Clark, who was a stonemason and the first white settler of Madison county, and his wife Ruth. It was built in 1926 and stands 25 feet tall. Isn't it amazing? Another follower of mine mentioned this tower to draw and I immediately found inspiration in it. I drew it on a 16x20 canvas board with my favorite medium- charcoal pencils of course.

I'll have this piece for sale in my gallery soon and/ or for sale at the Snake Alley Art Fair in June. I'm planning on finalizing it by framing it in a black frame with glass to protect it.

Thanks for your interest in my work!
